To answer the above question, we must first mention the Super Slam of North American Big Game®. To accomplish a Super Slam, hunters must take all 29 of the recognized NA big game animals. Those 29 can be broken down into TEN categories. The ten categories are: bears, cats, deer, elk, caribou, moose, bison/muskox, goat, antelope and sheep.
So, we can now easily answer that the Super Ten is when a hunter has taken and registered at least one from each of these ten categories.
Many North American big game hunters will never have the opportunity to take all 29 animals for the Super Slam. Knowing this, Grand Slam Club/Ovis Executive Director Dennis Campbell originally conceived the idea of the Super Ten way back in 2002. He realized that to take one trophy from each of these ten categories would be a lifetime goal and an amazing achievement.
